For a Fly fisherman,there's no greater thrill than seeing a large fish dart out from an undercut bank and aggressively chase a topwater fly across a river. When the fish that's charging your fly is a 15 pound Silver Salmon it really gets you attention., Your heart rates quicken, your grip on the line tightens and you brace yourself for the ensuing strike. "HooDoo Style" follows a group of anglers who travel to Western Alaska to tangle with "chrome plated, butt kicking, fighting machines. After years of bulking up in the Bering Sea, Cohos return to the Aleutians and stage a massive migration up the Hoodoo River to spawn. Waiting for them are intrepid anglers armed with fly rods and large silly looking hot pink flys commonly refered to as "wogs." No one really knows why these Salmon stop to chase these alien foam creatures...but they do. And it makes for some of the most exhilirating, intoxicating forms of fly fishing on the planet.
